The latest example comes from 47 House Republicans supporting legislation that would allow some illegal aliens working in agriculture to obtain legal status.
H.R. 9535, introduced by Republican Rep. Glenn Thompson, would overhaul the current H-2A temporary agricultural worker program by expanding the time frame so that it permits illegals to stay all year in three-year time increments and "waiv[es] some immigration violations like illegally obtaining an agriculture job,” as The Federalist’s Breccan Thies explained.
And with legal status we will have illegal voting and eventually a "pathway to citizenship" which will feed the Democratic Party and further alter the character of the United States.
But wait! There's more!
DIGNIDAD ActAnother recent fight over illegal immigration stems from Republicans’ efforts to pass a mass amnesty proposal known as the DIGNIDAD Act (or, if you’re American, the DIGNITY Act). According to a press release from Florida GOP Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar’s office, the legislation "allows certain long-term undocumented immigrants to earn legal status, without amnesty or a path to citizenship” so that illegal aliens who broke the law can have an "opportunity.” The bill would create a "7-year earned legal status program allowing” illegal aliens "to live and work legally, with renewable status based on good conduct and restitution.”
More than a dozen Republicans currently support the DIGNIDAD Act.
American Dream and Promise ActA Democrat-controlled Congress first passed this legislation in March of 2021 with nine Republicans voting in favor, but it died at the end of that term. Democrat Rep. Sylvia Garcia of Texas reintroduced the legislation in February of 2025, though it has not moved through any processes.
The legislation would provide amnesty for illegal aliens who claim to have been brought to the U.S. as children as well as certain Temporary Protected Status recipients. The legislation would protect these illegals and noncitizens from deportations and create a pathway to citizenship.
What part of "deport" don't these Republicans get? We do not want foreigners in the country taking American jobs and changing our culture to a Latin one. The American People are united on this issue in overwhelming numbers. Yet here we are with Republicans STILL carrying the water for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Maybe we should outsource THEM, hire illegals to take their jobs.
This is why we keep losing. We have few actual men in our party - it's full of whores.

I was on the message board of Bishop Robert Barron's post about why atheism is wrong, and naturally it was chock-full of atheists who were in high degrees of agitation over the Bishop daring to challenge their faith. Naturally I couldn't stay out of it. Oddly enough I got few people willing to reply to me.
Why not? Almost all of them used the same line "there is no evidence for God" and I proceeded to provide it to them. They couldn't refute anything so at most I got a laughing emoji, if that.
At any rate one of my interlocutors, one who actually answered me, took umbrage with my claim that children are generally born theists and only later are taught atheism. He insisted it was the other way around.
So I provided him with this.
Yes, peer reviewed science has shown most children are believers by nature.
The larger study by Oxford University (hardly Ave Maria University) found that most people the world over believe in God and the survival of the soul after death.
But children do especially. From the article:
Studies by Emily Reed Burdett and Justin Barrett, from the University of Oxford, suggest that children below the age of five find it easier to believe in some superhuman properties than to understand similar human limitations. Children were asked whether their mother would know the contents of a box in which she could not see. Children aged three believed that their mother and God would always know the contents, but by the age of four, children start to understand that their mothers are not all-seeing and all knowing. However, children may continue to believe in all-seeing, all-knowing supernatural agents, such as a god or gods.

Project Co-Director Professor Roger Trigg, from the University of Oxford's Ian Ramsey Centre, said: 'This project suggests that religion is not just something for a peculiar few to do on Sundays instead of playing golf. We have gathered a body of evidence that suggests that religion is a common fact of human nature across different societies. This suggests that attempts to suppress religion are likely to be short-lived as human thought seems to be rooted to religious concepts, such as the existence of supernatural agents or gods, and the possibility of an afterlife or pre-life.'

So this guy was flat wrong when he claimed theism is taught.
There are multiple other pieces of evidence for the existence of a supreme being, an intelligence who designed reality.
Take the Anthropic Principle. It is a well-established scientific concept that points out that our universe is uniquely suited to our existence and if you alter just one physical law even slightly the whole thing comes unraveled and life is impossible. That is hard to dismiss. Either we are lucky beyond any sort of reasonable odds or somebody designed things.
In fact this bothered the hell out of (pardon the pun) astronomer Fred Hoyle, an atheist, who calculated the odds of life spontaneously coming into existence. He didn't even calculate the odds of life - he just looked at the amino acids. His numbers were staggering - 10 to the 40,000 power. He likened it to a tornado moving through a junkyard and creating a Boeing 747. Many atheists have tried to disavow this and yet their criticisms largely fail (mostly they say multiple smaller processes could happen at the same time then amalgamate, something equally preposterous but they think they can get the odds down to 10 to the 26,000 power.)
At any rate Hoyle realized this was impossible so he kicked the can WAAAAYYY down the road. He invented the Steady State theory in which he argued the universe always existed but that just our little slice of it is only 4.3 billion years old and that life drifted here from the older parts. Of course, if the universe is eternal it would long ago have reached heat death. And there is that pesky 3 degree background radiation from the Big Bang to contend with. And the fact life is a violation of thermodynamics, a complete reversal of entropy - order from disorder. The universe doesn't workt hat way as we see it now.
Speaking of the Big Bang it followed the Book of Genesis perfectly. Cosmological expansion began BEFORE the Big Bang for reasons that are yet unclear. Genesis said "and the Earth was malformed and void and darkness was upon it's face, and God said "Let there be light" and there was light. Just like Cosmologists now believe.
Oh, there are other arguments. Order, for instance, comes from somewhere despite entropy. We have mathematical concepts that suggest a rationality to the universe, a design. The Nautilus Shell Spiral is called a "Golden Spiral" and it appears all over the place. The Milky Way is such. There is Pi. There are Mandelbrat sets. etc.
There is Natural Law; self-evident truths that we all intuitively understand. What is the first thing out of any child's mouth when something doesn't go his way? "That's not fair!" Why does he think that? Why does he expect fairness in a world clearly governed by it's opposite? Because he knows in his heart that there is Natural Law and so many things violate that. Thomas Jefferson understood it too and it's part of our Declaration of Independence.
Where did that concept originate? It certainly violates what appears to be the law of our universe, survival of the fittest and power granting the strong to thrive.
We have near death experiences all over the world with witnesses actually coming back from death with tales of an afterlife - both good and bad.
We have Marianne apparitions which many people have seen. For instance, in Zeitun Egypt back in 1968-71 where over a MILLION people saw a vision of Mary above a Coptic church in this suburb of Cairo. President Nasser was one of them and after that he began the peace negotiations that Anwar Sadat would later complete with Israel. It was actually televised and we have films of it!
Zeitun was far from the only one - we had Fatima, Lourdes, Guadalupe, all over the world. Medjugorje, although that has yet to be approved. I know a guy who went to Medjugorje and saw the miracle of the sun, in which the sun started spinning violently. First seen at Fatima it terrified people at the site then.
And the miracles. The Catholic Church investigates miracles from Marianne sights and is very careful to NOT declare one without solid evidence, yet people are cured of diseases and problems all the time at these locations.
And what of demonic possessions? Those too are ubiquitous, universal occurrences common to all humanity. If the Devil exists than so too does God.
I could go on and on but you get the point. None of these are smoking gun proofs, but they are evidence. If we were in a court of law we certainly could get an indictment, but a conviction would be tougher. God wants us to have free will so we can choose, choose who and what we want to be and decide our place in eternity. He makes us partners with Him in our own creation. Atheists often just take their ball and go home because they are angry at God or don't like life. But life isn't supposed to be easy, and if we are to become what we want we have to face the consequences of our decisions. You can't do that without there actually being consequences.
And as Paul said, this is "our momentary, light affliction" in eternity, a breath and done. As he also points out, it is like labor pains for a women, who will forget all about them as soon as the baby is born.
Yes, life is hard and that may actually add to our joy much like a little garlic improves pasta or salt improves our food in general. The memory of our suffering may be a great source of our joy in the hereafter.
I once read a near death experience and the person involved said he was told by a guide that we have to learn certain things and are thus sent here which is the only place we can learn them. You can't truly love your enemy if you have none, so we have to come here to learn to love our enemies. Otherwise we remain simple children. I am sure there is a lot of that in our being sent here. And always we have to learn to trust God and seek His grace because it's far too easy to put ourselves on the godhead, and that way leads to damnation. (Damnation is chosen, by the way; Hell is a place where people go to get away from God. As one near death experiencer said, the worst part of Hell is the people there - they have nothing to do for eternity and so they entertain themselves by tormenting others.)
In the final analysis atheism is as much a leap of faith - more actually - than belief. It's not agnosticism, where you say "I don't know" but rather you say "I know and there is no God" which is entirely unprovable. It's a dangerous and foolish risk to so confidently dismiss God's existence because you think you could do a better job.
I know I can't. I've long pondered God's ways, which are mysterious, and come to the conclusion that I wouldn't have done it any differently. I hate that but I understand it. God has to be hidden or we wouldn't have free will, wouldn't have a choice. He has to allow bad things to happen because otherwise we would have nothing to respond to. It's easy being good when times are good, not so much when the cold winds blow. We all have to learn fortitude to trust God so when we get back to Him we know it's not just sucking up to Him to get stuff. We have to make a choice. And we have to remake ourselves.
God made all sorts of intelligences and He wanted each to be unique. But how is that fair? Lucifer was the best and brightest and most beautiful while some schlub of an angel (let's forget humans who were worse than all the angels in beauty and intellect) got nothing, the null set. He was slow, plain, not real bright,not very engaging. But God loved him too! So how do you right this? You hold a tournament and give prizes away. You give gifts to those who win and the victory is largely based on desire. If you want to be kind God gives you kindness. If you want patience He gives you patience. If you want to be close to Him, sitting at His right hand, you will get that, provided you try to be righteous. Lucifer and the other fallen angels simply took their ball and went home. They refused to serve "better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven" and so now they have what they wanted - and it is overwhelmingly bad. Michael, the prince of the angelic host, had just been an archangel, the second lowest order of angels. Now he bosses around Cherubim and Seraphim because he was the one who loved God the most.
Mary is at the very top of creation (as opposed to Jesus, who is the top of everything) because she loved God and her son more than anyone. What was she? An uneducated peasant woman, the kind most people would see as a "hillbilly" as she was from Nazareth. Now she is greater than Queens and Empresses.
This is not to say salvation is not the gift of Jesus, that we can work our way into Heaven. We still must have faith and ask Jesus for it. But the things we do in life matter to our place in eternity. Adolf Hitler could possibly be in Heaven (very doubtful) and certainly Mussolini could. But they would be at the very bottom because they were bad people who may have repented at the end. Some very seemingly holy people may not be there.
At any rate in my view there is plenty of evidence for the existence of God although none of it is a smoking gun proof. God isn't going to give us that until Jesus returns. But He gives us enough if we are willing to seek it with an open mind. Sadly too many atheists lack that.

So what's wrong with aliens in our country doing the work "Americans Just Won't Do"? Let me tell you a story.
Last night I wasn't up for cooking, and it was very hot out and I saw no reason to heat up the kitchen, so I ordered a pizza. Now, there is a new Jets Pizza that just opened in my neighborhood, about three minutes from where I live, and Jets is pretty good, so I called in an order.
Problem was the place had their delivery guy call in and so they sent the order out via Door Dash. Door Dash apparently hires foreign people.
I ordered my pizza at 5:30 by 6:3o I got a call from the delivery driver who barely spoke any English. He asked my address, which I am sure he was given when he picked up my order from Jets. I told him the address. He called back saying he was having trouble finding it. I told him again. Then a bit after 7 a woman called and said (also in broken English) they were there but where was I? She gave me an address that was not mine. I told her "no, I'm right by the pizza place" and she complained she was ten miles away! She kept saying she was at this address in an accusatory manner as if I was somehow at fault for their inability to understand English. I finally had to hang up on her because she just kept repeating how she was at this other address. I looked it up - it WAS ten miles away.
How on Earth did this woman think someone that far would order a pizza and expect it to be delivered?
At any rate she was absolutely unreasonable and I had to hang up on her and call Jets. The manager apologized, made me new food, and brought it himself. He threw in an enormous brownie (in a whole cake pan) for my troubles. I didn't get any food until quite late. He said when he called them they simply refused to come back to deliver my food.
THAT is what's wrong with outsourcing your labor, even when it's in the country. These people were clearly Middle Easterners and apparently didn't think they needed to become fluent in English and expected we kaffirs should kowtow to them. I would add I had used a credit card and put a very generous tip on the bill to pay them. Hopefully the manager at Jets kept the tip for himself and further hopefully he'll refuse to pay these two idiots. He did say he will never use them again.
I don't know why it took two of them to do the job one person could do, either. I suppose delivering food is a complex endeavor requiring several minds to navigate.
At any rate I didn't eat until about eight thirty, and enjoyed the fun and adventure of a blood sugar crash in the process so I filled up on sherbert before I got my dinner. Ah, good times!
I don't blame Jets; I blame Door Dash for hiring people who have no business doing a job when they can't speak proper English and can't write down an address properly.
In times past teenagers would have done that job but now foreigners have taken all the jobs kids used to do and now kids get no training for the working world. So young people start with career jobs after college when they finally HAVE to start working and they have no experience with handling the vicissitudes of employment. McDonalds or convenience stores or amusement parks or delivering pizza used to be the minor leagues of employment, where young people learned responsibility. No more. Now we have so many aliens here taking not just those jobs but good ones too. How many people doing coding for big corporations are aliens?
But we never hear about any of the detriments from the mainstream media, just about how terrible it is we are kicking some of them out of the country. Well, I am not willing to wait two and a half hours for a pizza just to give a job to some interloper I didn't invite here. If it was an American kid who screwed up in this fashion I'd be a bit more forging because kids screw up. But I find it offensive to have to argue with someone who has broken English just to get a pizza I ordered - especially when I gave them a very generous tip.
If you come here you had better learn how to live here, how to work here, and learn proper English. If you don't want to do that go home.

So Cuba has been behind a lot of this leftist rioting and organizing over the years.
More than just building these radical organizations they also infiltrated the U.S. government.
Is it any wonder why America has been turning to Communism for some time now? They were here and working against us all along. Ditto the Chinese, although that goes beyond the scope of this report.

A newly released U.S. State Department report examines alleged historical connections between the Cuban government and several American activist organizations, including the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), arguing that Cuba has spent decades cultivating relationships with left-wing political groups in the United States, as reported by The Post Millennial.
The approximately 100-page report, titled "Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism," was released Monday.
According to the report, Cuba developed a long-term network of relationships with American activists, organizations, and institutions beginning in the decades following the Cuban Revolution.
Among the organizations discussed is the National Lawyers Guild, a nonprofit legal organization founded in 1937.
The report identifies the NLG as an organization that has provided legal assistance to activists associated with Antifa and traces what it describes as historical ties between the Guild and groups sympathetic to the Cuban government.
According to the report, the alleged network includes organizations ranging from the Weather Underground and the Black Panther movement to more recent activist groups involved in demonstrations related to immigration and other political causes.
The State Department report describes the National Lawyers Guild as "one of the most persistently relevant — and insidious — organizations in Cuba’s U.S. network."
The report also discusses Victor Rabinowitz, an NLG founder and former president, noting that he headed the Fair Play for Cuba Committee before his law firm, which he co-founded with attorney Leonard Boudin, became legal counsel for the Cuban government in the United States in 1960.
And yet these clandestine organizations were allowed to operate with little scrutiny all these years.
America had become a rat's nest, a hollowed-out hive of corruption and espionage and infiltration. Like termites the radicals ate the supporting joists out from inside.
After the House Unamerican Activities Committee and Sen. Joe McCarth's efforts (and both had been correct) had been smeared by the press and academic leftists America left herself wide open for espionage lest anyone be accused of "McCarthyism". This is the end result - a result our enemies had hoped for all along.
When Richard Nixon went after Alger Hiss he was vilified by the media and despised by the Democrats and the Left, even though it turned out Hiss was in fact a Communist spy. That is why they so desperately went after Nixon and why he had to resign to avoid being impeached. (My, times have changed; nobody fears impeachment anymore.) They took Nixon and his allies out primarily because he went after Hiss, which proved there were indeed Communist spies in high positions in our government. Part of the plot involved making that unthinkable to thus free the spies to sabotage America and undermine her.
Hollywood, too, was chock-full of Communists and few dared to mention it. One was Ronald Reagan and a number of Communists led by famed band leader Artie Shaw actually hatched a plot to assassinate Reagan, who became head of the Screen Actor's Guild before running for Governor. Communists were all over Hollywood and just a few people like Reagan or Jimmy Stewart or Olivia de Havilland had the courage to oppose them.

For decades the media has universally denied any Communist influence in our government, in our schools, and in our entertainment yet they've always been there, ever pushing, ever digging, ever working to seize the American mind and they have succeeded in many ways. They certainly succeeded in Europe where they have done the same. But now we are starting to find who is doing it, and how they are doing it. If we can keep control of the government long enough we can start to make a dent in this and begin the laborious process of expelling the Left from polite society. But it's going to be a long, hard slog and if we get another Biden Administration they will roll any headway we make back.
This is a good start anyway.

Thousands of Illegals Registered to Vote in Jersey, Trump to Blame

Typical Democrat. After President Trump announced there was massive fraud with illegals being registered to vote in federal elections the Governor of New Jersey announced they found six thousand illegals registered - and it's all Trump's fault, of course.
I doubt he would have noticed if Trump hadn't put HER on notice.

Last week I learned that a serious software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to the registration of roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens between June 2023 and June 2024, almost three years prior to my taking office. These individuals answered "no" when asked on a keypad whether they were a U.S. citizen when applying for drivers' licenses and identification cards, but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway.
This happened under the previous administration and, upon learning this information, I immediately ordered my chief counsel to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of what occurred. I also ordered the removal of any residents from our voter rolls who were erroneously added between June 2023 and June 2024. The new MVC Administrator that I appointed has begun the process of replacing the vendor responsible for administering the system.
Our preliminary analysis shows fewer than 400 individuals who were newly registered for the first time because of the error voted. They were registered as Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters and were scattered across the state.
I want to underscore how seriously I take this matter. As a military veteran who swore an oath to defend our Constitution, and as a former federal prosecutor, I believe the integrity of our elections is fundamental to our democracy. I am appalled by the reckless failures that allowed this to happen and the lack of transparency shown by those in charge at the time. This failure didn’t occur under my watch, but accountability starts now. I am taking action to prevent anything like it from occurring in the future and make sure those responsible are held accountable.
As the Trump Administration tries to weaponize elections for political gain, I am ensuring we protect our elections. Let me be clear: Donald Trump has zero credibility on the issue of election integrity. For more than ten years, he has worked to undermine Americans' faith in our elections by spreading lies about legitimate election results, attempting to overturn a free and fair election, encouraging an attack on our Capitol when he couldn't accept the will of the voters, and defunding election security at the federal level.
The difference is simple: when we find a problem, we don't hide it, deny it, or invent conspiracies. We investigate it, we fix it, and we tell the public. That's what accountability and good governance look like, and that's exactly what my administration is doing.
New Jerseyans should have confidence that every eligible citizen can vote, every lawful vote will be counted, and every reasonable step will be taken to protect the integrity of our elections. That's my responsibility, and it's one I will never stop fighting to uphold.

Only four hundred of them voted? Ri-ight. And it was an accident that just happened to benefit Democrats despite her claims they were also registered Republicans. How does she know that if the registration was purely accidental and only four hundred of them voted? She can't know that - she's just making it up. The error wouldn't have registered these people by parties, which means they either mostly voted or they didn't register.
If nothing else this shows what is wrong with "motor voter" that the Democrats so enthusiastically promoted since the nineties and the Bill Clinton era. It was terrible policy then and it is terrible policy now. This was guaranteed to happen.
But of course it's not Democrats weaponizing voting and illegals but Trump because he's pointing it out. Sure.

Here is a great story.
A family's pet huskie saved their child from an attacking black bear, putting himself between the child and the bear and biting the bear on the buttocks in the process. The bear ran for it.
The dog is a hero.
Lucky for everyone it was a black bear and not a brownie or the dog would be in several pieces. You can fight black bears (well, a dog can maybe) but a brown bear is a totally different proposition. And a white bear? Fuggitaboutit!
I once heard a little rhyme about bears: black bear fight, brown bear flight, white bear good-night.
At any rate the owner of the hero-dog is going to treat his best friend to a T-Bone steak, a feast fitting for so noble and heroic a creature. That's a job well done for anyone!

Race-Based Admissions Continue

Does this surprise anyone? we all knew academia wasn't going to give up their beloved discrimination so easily.
The Left is always looking for loopholes to get their way.

The Department’s investigation found that San Diego Med manipulated applicant data to achieve greater racial diversity in student admissions. San Diego Med’s documents show that admissions staff used purportedly "race-neutral” subjective criteria to deliberately increase admission of so-called "underrepresented minorities in medicine” (URM), which includes black and Hispanic applicants. In fact, San Diego Med used racial proxies, which, under SFFA, are banned by Title VI.
One example includes San Diego Med’s admissions staff using answers to "hardship” application questions — which allow applicants to address how they "overcame” certain disadvantages — to help determine which students were URM applicants. Thereafter, the admissions staff sorted applicants into six categories: Groups A-C — from highest to lowest MCAT scores and GPA, with "hardship” subgroups for each group. Each group and its subgroup were combined (e.g., "Group A” plus "Group A with hardship”), further sorted into "batches” of 30, and then rated for the interview stage. By giving reviewers access to the applicant’s race during this stage for certain admissions cycles post-SFFA, San Diego Med ensured that more URM applicants would be invited to interview. Thus, San Diego Med deliberately used the "hardship” categorization to skirt SFFA, by putting more URMs into the subgroups, which ensured that more URMs received interviews.
The result of San Diego Med’s manipulation: white and Asian applicants were denied admission in favor of lower-credentialed black and Hispanic applicants.
That's what America needs! Less qualified people practicing medicine! As long as their skin color is adequately dark...
Academia will keep trying to implement this on the sly and will try to wait Trump out.

He's right; we have a fascist economic system, not a free market capitalism.
And while I think some wars are necessary (I don't think this author does) I will agree the "endless war" branch of our government comports perfectly with fascist beliefs; they too wanted war as a tool to unite the nation and stimulate economic growth. War and fascism go together. Sadly America is a fascist state, even if it is not fascist in the iron boot fashion.
The author of this article goes on to fete Thomas Massie, a jackass of the first order, but otherwise he's right about a lot of this.
You may remember Dwight Eisenhower's Farewell Address in which he warns of the "military industrial complex". But Ike warned against other aspects of that, such as big tech and the rise of an expert class along with corporate influence. Ike knew what was coming, indeed, what had already come with WWII.
Now what we call capitalism is nothing of the sort. I conclude with the wise words of G.K. Chesterton. Chesterton famously quipped "the difference between a capitalist and a communist is a bigger paycheck". He of course meant a crony capitalist, a fascistic capitalist. He was right.

Expand the House?

And here I thought the number of legislators we have now is a bit much...
The House is already too unwieldy and we are blowing too much money on their comfort and enjoyment. All adding members would do is cost the taxpayers more. We would not get better representation.
Notice how this is now coming up after the GOP decided to gerrymander to rebalance the House after decades of Democrat gerrymandering? The Democrats have little more they can do so they now want to expand Congress (just as they want to expand the Supreme Court) to offer them new opportunities to steal elections and falsely obtain power.
The argument for this is that the population has increased (more than doubled, in fact) since this law was put into effect and thus we have just half the representation we once enjoyed. That is NUMERICALLY true, perhaps, but advances in technology make our representatives more responsive to us as they can be more easily contacted than in the old days when they either had to hang around their districts except when Congress was in session or simply ignore their constituents, or read snail-mail. Now a person with a problem can zip off an e-mail to his representative who can get a reply back to you in little time.
So to say our representation is watered down ignores how much faster communications are now.
And it's not like you have to deal with the Rep. in the first place; you are going to deal with his staff and there is no limit on how large a staff a representative may have. There is nothing to suggest in any way that our republican system of government would be improved in any way by increasing the size of Congress. But there is a lot of reason to worry about it.
More hand mean more mischief. And more money.
Yale historian Mark Peterson spills the beans
on the real motive:
"I think that the United States needs a major constitutional reworking … But I don’t think it will happen according to the rules of the 1787 Constitution,” Peterson told YaleNews. "I very much encourage Americans of every age and every stripe to start thinking about the kind of country they would want, how it would look, how it would be structured, and start imagining ways to get there.”
So to have "democracy" we need to get rid of the U.S. Constitution, according to this leftist fellow at Yale. (All I can think about here is Mr. Howell on Gilligan's Island and his ultimate condemnation "must be a Yale man".)
As they article points out, expanding the House and abolishing the Senate is a policy advocated by the Democratic Socialists.
This article, after saying some on the Right support expanding the legislature (and yet what they quote is a Hillsdale College Prof who simply said it CAN be done, not that it should) goes on to point out reasons why it shouldn't:
Another member of Hillsdale’s political science faculty warned of a similar trade-off.
"The Founders argued that creating a numerous legislature would be disastrous because it would ‘incapable of transacting public business,’ as the Anti-Federalist Brutus put it. A large assembly can’t deliberate or debate, and there are too many disagreements to work out,” Hillsdale College professor Joseph Postell told the DCNF.
Postell is a former visiting fellow at The Heritage Foundation.
"James Madison warned in the Federalist papers, increasing the size of the legislature would make it ‘more oligarchic’ rather than more democratic, because in order to get anything done, rank-and-file members would give up much of their independence and be directed by leaders,” Postell said. "We see this today, even with only 435 members in the House: it’s the committees and the party leaders that run the House, rather than ordinary individual members. I think the Founders would worry that increasing the size of the House would exacerbate these problems rather than fix them.”

In other words being a legislator becomes a mere sinecure, a dream job where you don't have to do anything and you let the Party do the thinking for you. Reps would be just figureheads who enjoy the perks and show up to vote as their leadership tells them and little more.
Grow government - be it the legislature or the bureaucracy only makes government less responsive and more dictatorial.
What this fails to realize is that, in the end, the American People are the true legislators, the ones who ultimately steer policy. Our elected representatives are supposed to do just that - represent our interests. But if we have too many cooks in the kitchen we wind up with representatives who have little to no influence and thus cannot fulfill that mission. So instead of being conduits of OUR will they become tools of the Party bosses.
My view is we should be cutting the size of the House, not expanding it. The larger a government body the less it truly represents the People, and the more it represents itself or business interests that keep the members in power. It's easier to hide corruption when you are Unum e pluribus, hiding in plain sight.
A smaller House with more visibility makes for a leaner, more honest government.
Take the Roman Senate, for example. Originally, during the Republic period, it numbered about 300. In 81 B.C. Sulla increased that number to 500. Julius Caesar expanded it to 900 (to pay off his friends and water down their influence) although the first true emperor Augustus cut it back to 600. (Augustus was in firm control of Rome and could afford to cut the number back.)
The point is Rome was decaying and the Senate was expanded at the same time. Coincidence? I suspect there is a correlative link.
If we were to expand the House we would be falling into the trap laid by the radical left. Don't fall for this.

They cab be suppressed, they can ultimately become antiquated, but they don't just disappear - they mutate.
Take Germany. Once the home of the Nazis then East Germany because home to the most vile and despotic of all Communist countries with the Stasi carefully watching everyone.

Yes, the land of Goebbels and company is making free speech illegal, punishable by imprisonment, if it goes against what Herr Fuehrers want.
Germany hasn't learned a thing from WWII and the Cold War it seems.

The number of investigations under Section 86a, the Nazi symbols ban that Dr Zitelmann was investigated for, has more than doubled over the past decade according to official police statistics. Investigations into the "political insult" law also reached record levels in 2025.
The surge in cases is so vast that the UN has launched an investigation into free speech violations in Germany, a step typically reserved for dictatorships and banana republics.
Dr. Zitelmann was in hot water for posting "Nazi imagery" when in fact he posted a photo of Hitler and compared Putin to the hateful Nazi. Zitelmann is a professor of history.
(He was being prosecuted under a post-war law making Nazi imagery illegal. This shows why anything but free speech is oppressive; you can't even criticize a thing if the law makes use of imagery illegal.)
That these laws are being used more and more in Germany should surprise nobody as it has been a worldwide trend among the Left to impose speech codes to silence critics and the U.S. was no exception under Joe Biden. Biden's Administration took steps to suppress opposition speech, going so far as to creating "truth squad" and strongarming social media into canceling Conservatives.
I know; I'm one of those who has been cancelled over the years.
At any rate the goose-step is alive and well in der Fatherland and it will return across the globe if the Left ever gets back into power here.
BTW does anyone notice the irony? The historian mentioned above compares Putin to Hitler but Zelensky has implemented laws in Ukraine very much like what he was in legal jeopardy over in Germany. Seems to me none of these countries are liberal democracies with inalienable rights.

Communists to End Elections in Nicaragua

The Communist Sandanistas have just permanently cancelled elections in Nicaragua.
It's what Communists do.
And no doubt el Presidente' feared what happened in Venezuela and is now happening in Cuba and he dare not have any alternate parties lest they rise up in the face of U.S. support.
The Sandanists were driven from power in the eighties but returned during the last decade and Obama, naturally, did nothing.
And the idiots in Nicaragua elected the Sandanistas again and almost immediately they began taking steps to guarantee they would never be turned out of power. Now they plan to simply do away with the charade of an election.
No doubt the Democrats are watching this with great interest and taking notes. This is what they thought they were going to do.

Well Duh! What did they expect?
We are only just beginning to take out infrastructure. And this reactor was not yet online.
The article does not mention what kind of nuclear reactor we hit. That makes a big difference; could it be used to generate plutonium? I suspect so. Iran hardly has need of nuclear power considering how much oil and gas they have.
The Iranians were screaming about International Law and yet they have attacked willy-nilly non-combatant countries in this war. The hypocrisy is astonishing.

The tip alleged the Chinese government has exported thousands of drivers licenses to the U.S. to create fraudulent mail-in ballots. It had been transmitted onto the bureau’s internal servers from the Albany Field Office. It was never investigated.
(Nikki) Floris (of the FBI Foreign Interference Task Force) did not stop there. As she worked to retract the explosive tip, FBI headquarters in Washington informed every field office that they must transmit any foreign election interference reports to be micromanaged by Floris’s team at the FBI.
"We’ll get this back in a box!” she informed her colleagues.
Floris could not be reached for comment. Her LinkedIn page has been deleted. A request for comment sent through her current employer Microsoft did not receive an immediate reply.
As another FBI official prepared the bureau’s section of the Presidential Daily Brief, they asked about the tip.
"It’s been retracted,” Floris replied.
"I am basically running a shadow government inside the FBI right now,” Floris added.
"Do what you have to do” replied the other FBI official.
A smiley emoji? Really? They are discussing subverting American election law and cheating the public with the help of a hostile foreign actor and they put an smiley emoji on the e-mail?
Glad they are enjoying themselves so much at our expense.
Flores also pushed the "Russian collusion" hoax even while she knew the Chinese were colluding with the Biden Administration.
The hubris of these people is simply staggering.
That this chick has now gone dark speaks volumes. She knows she's in deep doo-doo, caught with her hand in the cookie jar.
The thing is though it was obviously not just her but the whole damned division, nay, the whole FBI. Christopher Wray is quoted in the article when he denied before Congress any election funny-business.
Watch for the media to dangle some shiny objects in front of the American People to divert the People's attention away from this.

Vance on the Ropes

J.D. Vance's career appears to be heading South faster than did Sherman and, although he was the obvious successor to President Trump, he seemed to go out of his way to blow it up with his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast.
American Thinker analyzes the event and the article's author concludes Vance is a light-skinned version of Barack Obama, a social climber who is angry at President Trump for his own failure with the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran.
In addition to saying the Jews wanted "endless war" and that they were the ones trying to keep the war going (for reasons that he does not articulate) Vance said of his boss:
And "by the way,” he wanted to make clear, "I’ve never seen a single piece of credible evidence that the president of the United States engaged in wrongdoing with minors.”
Clintonesque, no question - Vance seems to be engaging in a CYA operation, suggesting his boss may have molested children while not saying he molested children.
It all looks pretty bad when viewed from a certain angle, for certain.
The author thinks Vance is mad because Trump sent him on his first big-boy assignment and he fouled it up and now wants to deflect blame.
Perhaps. I was displeased with the choice of Vance in the first place, as regular readers of this blog may well remember. Vance had trashed Trump early on, sucking up to the RINO wing of the party and demanded Trump resign from office in his first term. Suddenly he was a big MAGA guy, and anyone who sells their loyalty that cheaply is suspect to me.
But he's been very good since and I wonder if the things he's saying now are not being said for strategic reasons to advance the Administration's policies.
It is no secret that Mr. Trump has been unhappy with Netenyahu and Israel through this Iran war. But Trump can't come out and say it himself, or at least it wouldn't be a good idea; it would suggest a break in our relations with Israel and the Iranians would unquestionably try to exploit that. So what do you do? Past Presidents have generally used their Veeps to do this kind of grunt work. Vice Presidents are political hatchet men, doing the work Presidents Just Won't Do.
Eisenhower was the master of that; he dumped every nasty job on Nixon and then left Tricky Dick twisting in the wind when the heat came down. "Oh, you'll have to ask Dick about that" and he went off to play golf while a poor stammering Nixon had to explain that, no, he hadn't stopped beating his wife.
At any rate that is the traditional role of the Vice President and Vance's comments may well be things Trump wants put out there to put a little fear in Israel so they stop with the cowboy diplomacy and get on board.
On that matter of the legalese about Trump and Epstein, I can see that too being a tactic that Trump may want. One of the things Trump has always done is lay little traps for the media and the Democrats, get them chasing after shadows, and Vance may well have advanced this to get Trump's enemies back into a feeding frenzy while Trump looks like the adult in the room.
And of course while Trump may not agree with the crazy alt-right guys like Tucker Carlson he is savvy enough to know they represent an audience he dare not take for granted. So he tosses them a bone to get them out in November. Nothing that has been said is binding in any way.
Is all this the case? I don't know and neither does anyone else. But I'm prepared to give Mr. Vance the benefit of the doubt right now and will adopt a wait-and-see approach to him. He may well wind up being just another political turncoat who will dumb the gal he brung to the dance, or he may be a loyal soldier. I think we have to see more to decide.
Sadly many are ready to give up on Vance in favor of Marco Rubio, who has been very good as Secretary of State but has no executive experience - and furthermore he was not just a member of the Gang of Eight when he was in the Senate (a bipartisan group including John McCain who wanted an amnesty for illegals) but he attacked Conservatives, calling us racists, for opposing him. To me that bespeaks a serious character flaw that I'm not comfortable with. If Rubio would address that and admit "I really screwed up there" I'd be much happier with him.
Of course there is also DeSantis who has been excellent as Florida Governor and would be a good choice. But he attended Yale for his undergraduate and Harvard Law, which makes him suspect, if you ask me.
Still, of the three I like him best, but it is unclear if the American People will like him best. Low information voters may not know who he is and as a result the media will be able to define him.
One of the reasons I supported Trump for the second term was that Trump was unshakeable, had taken everything they could throw at him and was still standing. That meant they had nothing they could use against him anymore. DeSantis will be fresh meat. Granted, so too would be Rubio or Vance, but they at least have gone through a lot of this and the public will know the dirt the media digs up is purely political.
At any rate Vance was the logical choice and unfortunately he's blowing up his chances (and perhaps ours) with this. I'm willing to give him another chance, but he'd better straighten up and fly right. We do NOT need another Benedict RNCold.

China Promoted BLM Violence

China plotted to gin up BLM violence in the U.S.
Trump must punish China and hard. We now know they tampered with our elections and stole huge amounts of voter data. We now know they fomented violence to cause turmoil and even death in our communities. Trump is going to have to hit them hard - harder than he has been hitting them already.

The Chinese planned to stoke Black Lives Matter riots and other social unrest in 2020, using the corporate media to launder the narrative in order to tank the election for President Donald Trump, according to documents released by the White House on Thursday.
Intelligence summaries from 2020, which were apparently hidden from the president at the time, show that the Chinese planned on "encouraging violent demonstrations and looting to increase the appearance of social unrest” ahead of the election, and to "exploit U.S. societal fissures and vulnerabilities,” in part by "alleging that White people hate Black people.”
In international affairs you have to respond to stuff like this or you show weakness and will wind up trampled under foot by every nation. Biden showed that. Trump will have to take punitive action against the Chicoms.
The Federalist continues:
The Chinese were interested in "inciting demonstrations and marches as evidence of racial divides; increasing the level of conflict between police and anti-racism activists; and feeding any sense that U.S. law enforcement resents USG and people of color,” according to one intelligence summary from a "sensitive government agency.”
The document stated that "China had developed capabilities to project themes on these topics into social media (Tiktok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others), as well as mainstream media through a variety of overt and hidden influencers and media contributors.”
In other words, the documents highlight the potential that the corporate media fueling race riots and unrest in 2020 were either knowingly pushing Chinese propaganda to alter the election, or were too dense to realize it.
The Chicoms knew they had willing allies in the media and on social media platforms and they obviously used them.
In a bygone era this would have led to war. Now we dare not fight the Chinese (partly because we helped them build ICBM's when the Clinton Administration gave Loral Aerospace a waiver to help them fix their satellite launch rockets - thus giving them the ability to launch intercontinental missiles carrying nuclear weapons) and partly because they can send in millions of soldiers if we fight them on conventional grounds. It also hurts us that our economy is still tied to theirs, although less so since Trump started the laborious job of decoupling the two.
As things stand Trump has been squeezing them like citrus fruit and they are starting to feel the pinch. Gas is limited thanks to the Iran war. Their trade has dropped off. They are in an economic downturn with little hope of getting out thanks to the resumption of manufacturing in the U.S. under Trump's policies.
So how Trump can punish them is a good question. But I'm sure there are ways open to him.

The media encouraged demands for a "racial reckoning,” corporate capitulation to the BLM mob, billions in damages from burning American cities to the ground, and the degradation of institutions in order to unevenly apply the law on racial grounds, apparently in line with the wishes of the Chinese government.
Some in the media, however, appeared to not only advance Chinese propaganda, but also to orchestrate cover for the Chinese once people started to catch wind.
And I do not believe for a minute the media was not aware they were pushing Chinese propaganda. The media is full of traitors.
In September 2020, The Heritage Foundation highlighted the possibility of Chinese influence in the BLM riots. Heritage noted that 95 percent of the riots were linked to BLM and pointed out evidence that Chinese activist groups were funding them, stating, "The U.S. government should connect the dots and investigate the extent of the Chinese Communist Party’s support for the Black Lives Matter organization and the riots.”
One month later, when the argument started gaining steam — and only a few weeks out from Election Day — Axios dutifully ran the headline "Right-wing media falsely ties Black Lives Matter movement to Beijing.”
Axios explicitly supported the BLM riots. CEO Jim VandeHei encouraged his staff to join them and said the company would pay for bail if they were arrested and medical bills if they were injured.
"We proudly support and encourage you to exercise your rights to free speech, press, and protest. If you’re arrested or meet harm while exercising these rights, Axios will stand behind you and use the Family Fund to cover your bail or assist with medical bills,” he said in an email to staff.
The folks at Axios ought to be investigated for espionage. In a more sane time that is exactly what would have happened.

Another reason why Hawaii is not part of America and should be kicked out of the Union.
This Hawaiian supreme court justice not only ignored the U.S. Supreme Court but openly trashed the conservatives on the court and accused them of hubris. What kind of hubris does it take to pull this?
We've got to find a way to rein in these lawless judges.
Maybe California and Hawaii can leave the union and form their own country? I don't care; I'd like to see both tossed. Let them enjoy the socialist paradise they both seem so hell bent to create (Sorry Bill and Mike).

Now the Jim Crow laws were introduced at the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, after not just the Civil War but after Reconstruction ended. I suppose AOC thinks the American Revolution happened around that time too.
As Bugs Bunny would say "what a maroon".
As an aside the name Jim Crow is obscure but it probably comes from a minstrel show, or so many scholars believe.
